On January 16, 2014, Autonomous Women's Center renewed the initiative from November 2011 submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia for the introduction of specific line of work in the field of domestic violence.

AWC believes that commitments to the Convention against violence against women can be achieved only if all organizational units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have at least one person specialized and responsible for the area of domestic violence. Implementation of specific line of work in the field of domestic violence is justified, does not require special funds, except redistribution of work responsibilities and specialization of police officers, and responds to the need to improve the security situation in the Republic of Serbia, the security of police officers in performing police duties and legal obligations to all female citizens provide safety, rights and freedoms, the application of the law and the rule of law.
