During the two-day seminar organized by the Autonomous Women's Center, representatives of women's organizations that provide psychosocial and legal support to women survivors of violence, have agreed to a joint monitoring of the implementation of the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence, which will enter into force on 1 June.

In addition to improving knowledge about this, but also about the Criminal Code and the Family Law, as well as changes in the Police Act, the objective of the seminar was an agreement on ways of informing women survivors of violence, as well as the media and the general public, about the possibilities of preventive protection from violence and responsibility of state authorities. It was pointed out that the Law on the Prevention of Domestic Violence sets strict deadlines for jurisdiction and state authorities, primarily the public prosecutor's office, police and center for social work, and it was agreed to work on a joint monitoring of deadlines and fulfilling the responsibilities of these bodies. It was also noted that the law provides emergency measures only in cases of violence of low intensity, and it was pointed out that the police officers who prescribe emergency measures must be sensitized to recognize the nuances of violence and react accordingly.
