Autonomous Women’s Center, in the partnership with 28 women’s organizations from Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and Serbia has organized the International Conference dedicated to the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. At the Conference, all representatives of all the civil society organizations, which shares human rights values, were invited to sign Declaration of the civil society organizations on preventing violence against women.
At the Conference, introductory speeches were given by Mr. Meho Omerović, Chair of the Committee for Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality, Mr. José Mendes Bota, General Rapporteur on Violence against Women of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Ms. Nadia Ćuk, Deputy Head of the Council Europe Office in Belgrade. Representatives of the Parliaments participated at the panel: Ismeta Dervoz (BIH), Gordana Sobol (Croatia) and Ermira Mehmeti (Macedonia), representatives of the Ministries, Jana Lovšin (Slovenia) and Jasmina Ivanović (Serbia), as well as representatives of the women organizations, Nada Golubović (BIH), Roza Logar and Maria Rösslhumer (Austria), Špela Veselič (Slovenia), Adriana Bego (Croatia), Savka Todorovska (Macedonia) and Tanja Ignjatović (Serbia). Danijela Pešić from Autonomous Women’s Center has read the Declaration of the civil society organizations on preventing violence against women and invited all the civil organizations which shares human rights values to sign it.
