A representative of the Autonomous Women’s Center, Sanja Pavlovic, held a presentation at the Congress of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) held in Edinburgh from September 24th to the 27th 2023. She spoke at the symposium titled „Leadership of survivors, activists and practitioners in the field of knowledge needed to solve problems of sexual violence against children“, where she presented examples of good practice in preventive work with teenage girls as part of AWC’s program „I Can Say No“.
The symposium was hosted by Professor Catherine Maternowska from the University of Edinburgh, while speakers included Janet Aguti from the international organization BRAVE which is a gathering place for survivors of sexual violence, and Tvisha Nevatia from the Raising Voices organization in Uganda. The session was realized with support from Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) and Together for Girls.
The Edinburgh congress brought together more than 800 people from 73 countries, with more than 10 parallel sessions taking place and a 100 short presentations during the four day program.
