azcBased on the Report of the Protector of Citizens in the case of the actions of the institutions after the murder of a woman in Pirot, the Autonomous Women's Center filed criminal charges against the judges of the Basic Court in Pirot and the prosecutors of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Pirot, due to the suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of negligent work in the service referred to in Art. 361 of the Criminal Code.

We believe that, as officials, they violated Art. 313 and 314 of the Criminal Procedure Code, thus violating Art. 18, 24 and 25 of the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, and in connection with Art. 2, 3, 8 and 13 of the ratified Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and Art. 5, 34, 50 and 51 of the Convention of the Council of Europe on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention), in such a way that they obviously acted negligently in the performance of their duties, even though they were obliged and should have been aware that as a result a serious violation of another's rights could occur, and such a serious violation occurred in the form of a violation of the right to life and the death of the now deceased Sanja Manojlov.
