azcThe Senior Public Prosecutor of the Special Department for Prevention of Corruption of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Niš refused to act on the criminal charges filed by the Autonomous Women's Center against judges and prosecutors in Pirot, and forwarded them to the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Pirot. Such a decision of the Senior Public Prosecutor would not have been contested if the Autonomous Women's Center had not filed criminal charges due to the suspicion that the judges and prosecutors from Pirot had committed a criminal offense under Art. 361 CC, and not from Art. 360 of the CC, as stated in the prosecutor's letter. Bearing in mind that, in accordance with Art. 2 par. 1 point 3 of the Law on the Organization and Competence of State Authorities in Suppression of Organized Crime, Terrorism and Corruption, criminal offense from Art. 361 of the CC falls under the jurisdiction of the Special Departments of higher courts for the prevention of corruption, the Autonomous Women's Center sent a letter to the acting prosecutor to return the cases to their jurisdiction and continue processing the reports.
