Within the cycle of debates and workshops aimed at combating stereotypes and gender inequalities, the French Institute in Serbia and the University of Belgrade are organizing a half-day debate with participants from Serbia and France on the topic of violence against women to be held on International Women's Day on March 8th from 15h to 19h at the premises of the French Institute.

During this event, whose opening will be attended by professor Ivanka Popović, the vice-rector for international cooperation at the University of Belgrade and H. E. Frederik Mondoloni, Ambassador of France to Serbia, will talk about different topics. Tanja Ignjatović, a representative of the Autonomous Women's Center, will talk about the fight against domestic violence. Ivana Radović, coordinator of the NGO ASTRA prevention and education program, will talk about ways to combat trafficking of women. Klemans Žoz, a lawyer from the European Association Against Violence against Women, and Jelena Čeriman, a researcher at the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory, will talk about the issue of harassment at work. Anais Burde, for her part, will speak about the topic of harassment in a public place. Nikola Bizel, a representative from the Delegation of the European Union, will present European standards on this topic.

The event is open to the public and the media, and will be held in French and Serbian, with simultaneous translation.
